Who Is Jordan Boyes?
Jordan Boyes is a certified professional business coach, owner/founder of Boyes Group Realty INC. & an award-winning REALTOR® from Saskatoon, Canada. Opening an independent brokerage was not something Boyes had imagined, but he had this goal for a while and it just seemed like the next logical step. He set a goal to create a strong independent, recognizable brand, something that he thought Saskatoon’s marketplace was lacking, and with creating that brand Boyes wanted it to not only benefit the clients that worked with the brokerage but the agents that choose to work with us as well.
Boyes is approaching his 8th year in the business. Having been the overall top producer at Hallmark Realty Ltd. for the last four years. He recently broke the all-time sales record for the company. Appearing as the cover story of The Real Estate Magazine in April of 2014. He attributes his success to all his great clients & team members, being extremely hard working, having great communication & availability, and constantly staying on top of the market. If you don’t have a 401(k), open an IRA or a Roth IRA. Cut out extraneous expenses, automate as much as you can and be aggressive when pursuing jobs and asking for a bigger salary.” –Two Cents
Jordan Boyes: I agree. It still has its place for the most part. It sounds legit. We do not have 401k in Canada so I can’t really say. There are different retirement plans in Canada depending on which road you take, but I do agree with finding a good job and cutting costs.
Episode Notes: Having the Drive Before 35
In regards to Having the Drive Before 35, you just have to keep pushing forward. Boyes is pretty driven that way. He doesn’t feel like real estate is ever dissatisfy. He takes great pride in his work and he loves what he does, but the “never being complacent” and always pushing ahead has its challenges. This is what moves him forward.
Boyes has always had a business mind which has helped him obtain his drive for striving. He is interested in all aspects of business. Boyes stumbled into real estate with no plan of getting into it.
He use to play poker professionally from age 21 – 25. He met a friend at work who was so good at it that he was making more from poker than his current job. Boyes saw this as an opportunity and quit his job with his friend and started playing poker professionally. In 2009/2010 there was a poker website called Black Friday. In Canada it was legal to play on this site, but in the US it was not. In the US the site was seized by the FBI and so the problem was in Canada we were still allowed to play on this site, but we lost a lot of our players in the US. So with no education or job Boyes had to figure out his next move.
This is when he discovered real estate and decided to go for it. Boyes made 88 transaction in 10 months selling houses. What made him stand out was his ambition, drive, and persistence. He followed-up with his clients and always left an impression. Boyes said “You won’t forget me.”
What Does Biz4Good Mean to you?
“Customer service is key! As a business we are up to date on sales funnels, Instagram, and Facebook, but for the most part we are not the old school paper billboard advertising branch. If you just take care of your current client then they are basically going to be working for you. We get calls daily regarding referrals from past clients. We also re-sell homes from past clients who bought it from us. It is so much easier to take care of your current network of people than to constantly try to fill it back up. We love gaining new clients, but it’s also important to keep our previous clients.
1. Take it From a Financial Standpoint: You build relationships with your independent contractors and they become family.
2. Staff: I have to make sure we meet our quota in maintaining profitability so people can keep their jobs.
3. Giving Back to the Community: As a boss, I do my best to give back. We try to get involved in a lot of charities and fundraising events. I sit on a few non-profit boards: Big Brothers and Sisters of Canada and stuff like that.” -Jordan Boyes
