Travis Lippert is the founder and CEO of Verks Unlimited, Ltd., a Colorado manufacturer of hemp-derived cannabidiol (CBD) products best known by the name of its flagship brand, Veedverks.

Travis grew up in Lawrence, Kansas. He attended the US Air Force Academy, where he was a soaring instructor pilot, and graduated with a BS in human factors engineering. He served five years on active duty and attained the rank of captain.

After fulfilling his commitment to the air force, Travis co-founded and presided over Volition Interactive, a successful computer-based training startup and defense contractor.

Travis then embarked upon a 13-year career as the director of digital marketing for a pharmaceutical company with more than 35 national over-the-counter and prescription brands. In addition to his responsibility for the company’s entire digital footprint, he led several special projects, ranging from getting a human antibiotic approved for dogs to NASCAR sponsorships. His final project propelled him into the canabis industry in 2014.

Founded in 2015, Veedverks launched its first line of vape pen products in January 2017, followed by e-liquids and Amelia brand lotions. It now manufactures and distributes 12 products to 57 stores in 14 states.

In May 2017, Veedverks made history and gained national brand recognition as the first cannabis brand to sponsor a race team in NASCAR’s top series. Although NASCAR approved the sponsorship, they forced the team to remove the Veedverks logo from the hood of underdog Carl Long’s #66 Chevy before the race. Veedverks honored its commitment to the team anyway, lit NASCAR up on social media, and endeared itself to millions of NASCAR fans. Shortly thereafter, Veedverks sponsored Bobby Dale Earnhardt in a nationally televised ARCA race. In February 2018, Veedverks became the the first cannabis company to sponsor a monster truck, using the opportunity to raise awareness for nonprofit American Medical Refugees and US Patent 6630507, The US government’s own patent on cannabinoids as a neuroprotectants which proves that cannabis has medical value and disqualifies it from placement on Schedule 1. Veedverks now sponsors Tia Norfleet, the first African-American female NASCAR-licensed driver.

Episode 61: Travis Lippert, Veedverks
“Racing to End Prohibition”

Sweet. Welcome Travis. Rough Start, but “We Got This”.

What is your passion about, Travis?

He hears himself so much in his own head…we were trying to freak you out, Travis.

Travis tells about himself. There is still an echo for him in his headphones, but he does great telling all about his company. Partners are Air Force grads, started the company in 2015.

What made you get into this industry?

He was working for a pharmaceutical company and found out that Cannabis is not bad for you, but in many cases is good for you. When he learned that truth, the rest of his life he had to pursue it.

The medicinal part of Cannabis is actually over 111 cannabinoids which are all related to each other. Not just CBD that is legal is all 50 states.

Travis is still hearing a ton of feedback. 15 second delay and looping. Really, I heard it. –Sky

I ended up being the issue! When Bobby asked Sky to sign off of Appearin, everything worked much better. Technical Diffs….

All Better Now.

Once Travis learned about Cannabis while working for a drug company, his project was to check into it on Pub Med he found articles and research studies that proved to him that we had been lied to about this plant.

He remembered it being a 1 way trip. If you go into that industry, could you ever get a job again? No turning back. It’s true.

He decided to help legalize this plant. It cures cancer! Once you know what it can do. It’s not just friends, but family who are healing with THC. It straight up kills cancer cells.

CBD is one of the 111 compounds found in the plant. They are a miracle drug factory kind of thing. The testimonials are numerous. Travis wants to help end prohibition.

On the website it says CBD is 100% legal in all 50 states.

In 2014, the Argriculture Act leagalized industrial hemp. And, defined it to have less that 3% THC. It is not pleasant to smoke hemp, and it definitely does not get you high. So, they legalized rope & devil’s lettuce. The plants in the Himalayans are short and stout, various plants make you feel a certain way. They are different at the equator.

Congress legalized industrial hemp, there were stipulations that the State Agriculture Departments stipulate. The first real commercial harvest of hemp in this country happened 2 falls ago.

Ryan asks about a testimonial on www.Veedworks.com

There is a whole page with these kinds of testimonials. All kinds of conditions. Travis tells about ADHD, and he tells about a case that was specific to this.

Travis does make a disclaimer that his products are not curing or healing these conditions. The customers give their accounts of what they have experienced.

They are really good products. And, you should try CBD.

What does Biz4Good mean to you, Travis?

It means from a business standpoint, mainly he is speaking to the Cannabis Industry…think about before the end of alcohol prohibition. He has a Coors plant down the way, now more and more people are understanding the money that can be made in the industry.

Travis’ advice is to get involved at the non-profit level before going into the industry. It takes much political advocacy to make it work. Getting involved and supporting non-profits is the best way to start.

Start working for the cause.

His effort is toward American Medical Refugees. A charity he supports. They have about 300 families that have moved from other stated to Colorado, where they can use Cannabis for medicine. It breaks his heart that they have to pack up and move to Colorado. It’s so hard on them and their families.

He speaks about the US Patent 66030507and his logo on a Monster Truck. He shows a copy of the patent and mentions how someone with Alzheimers could be using this medicine, but the government keeps it on Schedule 1 and claims there is no medicinal value. The criteria for Schedule 1 is: The substance is highly addictive, no accepted medical use, and so dangerous it cannot be tested. Cannabis should not be a Schedule 1. It does not meet the criteria to be on Schedule 1.

Having to move to Colorado just to keep their kids from having seizures just isn’t right.

Bobby says, Travis has a little passion about this!

What can people do to help with the movement.

Travis best suggestion: he writes the number 6630507 on his hand and showed it to the audience. It’s called “Talk to the Hand”. This will tell the Federal Government to take Cannabis off Schedule 1.

Travis then tells about the issue before Oklahoma right now. There is a music festival being planned for April 20th to help create awareness there. An activist and CannaFamily member got pulled over in Oklahoma because of Colorado tags on her car. Dr. Regina Nelson with the EndoInstitute. She writes about the science behind Cannabis and what it can do for you.

How long before it will be legal everywhere?

Travis thinks it will be this year. 82% of the citizens in this country are for medical marijuana.

The tide is turning. Veedverks got a lot of press last year for sponsoring a NASCAR. This was the big one! NASCAR reaches millions. He picks up a model car that looks like car #66 with the Veedverks logo on it. A guy sent him 2 of them! NASCAR fans are avid. In 2011 NASCAR was the #2 & #4 sport. Millions of people who really get behind their drivers in ways that are NASCAR-specific.

Look at where NASCAR tracks and where Cannabis is prohibited, it overlaps.
