Ep7 David Bradford CEO of FluentWorlds

David Bradford is a proven business leader with over 35 years of experience in the computer industry. David Bradford is the CEO of FluentWorlds which is revolutionizing Language training in 3D Virtual Worlds.
David has previously served as CEO and Chairman of HireVue. During his tenure at HireVue, Company sales increased over 200%, the Company raised over $ 47 Million in capital and was awarded the prestigious HR product of the Year becoming the de facto standard in digital interviewing.

Prior to his work at HireVue, Mr. Bradford served as CEO and Chairman of Fusion-io (NYSE: FIO), a pioneer of a new storage memory platform, significantly improving performance in the world’s data centers. In this role, he sourced and brought together an S-1 ready management team, helped raise over $100 Million in growth equity, sourced and recruited Steve Wozniak, Co-Founder of Apple and saw the company named America’s “most innovative” company by BusinessWeek.

From 1985-2000, Bradford served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Novell, Inc. (NASDAQ: NOVL), where he helped lead the networking start-up through a series of acquisitions, public offerings, and business development activities.

He is the recipient of numerous honors and distinctions, including the 2010 Utah Technology Council Executive of the Year award and the Trustee of the Year.
Mr. Bradford’s involvement in the computer industry from the earliest days of the PC led to his being featured in the PBS special, “Nerds 2.0.1: A Brief History of the Internet,” a sequel to “Triumph of the Nerds.” In 2008, David won the USGA Senior Amateur golf championship for the State of Utah. In October of 2013, Bradford was inducted into the Utah Technology Hall of Fame.

He has also significant experience in the Venture Capital markets. Among other things, He was responsible for Novell’s $150 Million dollar venture fund and has been an advisor to a number of Venture Capital Funds and Private Equity firms. He was also a senior member of the National Finance Committee for Romney for President. He helped lead a team that wrote and passed the Utah Venture Capital Enhancement Act providing a pool of over $100 Million in capital enabling the State to invest in venture capital funds.
Mr. Bradford has been honored as the “Alumnus of the Year” for the J. Reuben Clark Law School of Brigham Young University. Mr. Bradford has a Law Degree from Brigham Young University, a Masters in Business Administration from Pepperdine University and a B.A. in Political Science from Brigham Young University. David has been nicknamed the “Human Internet” by his wife of 43 years, Dr. Linda Bradford. She and David were named with four other Couples as the Top Couple in America in 2014. Together they have four children and 17 grandchildren.
